We do not use your photographs or generated portraits to train models, and we will not publish them anywhere without your explicit permission. Which AI model do you use?

We route generation through a hosted image model rather than running our own — currently one of the Gemini image models. The same model produces your preview and your final file, which is what lets us promise the download matches what you approved.

You can arrange a personal-use print yourself. The unlocked image has four crop options — square, 4:5, 3:2 and a phone wallpaper. Choose the crop for your frame, then check the actual file dimensions and request a proof from your printer. Enlargement does not add verified source detail, so suitability depends on print size and viewing distance. PetArtGen does not print, frame or ship physical products.

Can I sell the portrait, or use it commercially?

No — the license is for personal use: printing, framing, and giving it as a gift. Reselling or any commercial use is not permitted, and the detail is in our terms of service. If you need a portrait for a business, that is outside what this site offers.

Does it work for other pets, or only dogs and cats?

How it works

Your photo goes to a hosted AI image model along with a prompt describing the style you picked and an explicit instruction to keep your pet's own coat color, markings, eye color, ear shape and face proportions. The model repaints your pet in that style. In our current testing a successful preview typically came back in about 30 to 75 seconds. You do not need an account or a card to get that far; there are 6 free watermarked previews in total, and unlocking one into a high-resolution file without the watermark costs a single credit.

You get the exact image you previewed

Worth stating because it is not how every generator works: unlocking does not re-run the model. The portrait you approved in the preview is the file you download — same image, just without the watermark and at a larger size. Nothing is regenerated behind the scenes, so there is no chance of paying for a version you have not seen.

What it is good at

Preserving identity. Coat color, markings and their placement, ear shape, eye color and face proportions are written into the prompt as hard constraints, which is the thing that actually matters — a portrait that looks like a different animal of the same breed is worthless to an owner. It also copes with awkward source photos: profile shots, lying-down poses and black-and-white originals are usually reinterpreted sensibly.

What it is not good at

Fine control over composition. If the photo contains two pets, the portrait may include both. Results can vary even with the same photo and style, so use the preview to check the face, markings and composition before unlocking. The downloaded image is enlarged from the generated portrait; it will not recover details missing from the photo.

Choose a photo you can recognize them from

Pick a photo with a clear face, visible eyes and the coat markings you recognize. Leave room around the ears; avoid a wide shot where the face is tiny. If you are using an old memorial photo, keep the original scan and upload a copy. Sharpening cannot recover a marking the photo never captured. Check those same details in the preview. If the eyes, markings or face look wrong, try another suitable photo before paying; unlocking will not correct the portrait.

Check the print plan before you pay

You receive a digital image for personal use. PetArtGen does not print, frame or ship it. Before paying, ask your printer what pixel dimensions and aspect ratio it needs for your chosen size. Check that the crop leaves the face and ears inside the printable area, and request a proof before ordering the print. A larger file or a changed resolution label does not add fur detail. If the preview lacks the detail you want for a large print, consider a smaller size or another workflow.

Why there is a free preview

Because AI output is unpredictable, asking anyone to pay before seeing their own pet would be unreasonable — hence the 6 free previews, which exist so you judge the result on your own animal rather than on our examples. It is also why our refund policy draws the line where it does: a broken or unusable file is refunded, a result you saw in the preview and then chose to unlock is not.

Choosing a photo

One clear, reasonably lit photo with the face in focus is all that is needed.
You do not need a professional photo — an ordinary phone snapshot works.
Photos that are very dark, heavily blurred, or where your pet is small in the frame give the weakest results.
