Welcome to PetArtGen's Privacy Policy. This document explains how we collect, use, protect and handle your personal information when you use our AI pet portrait service at https://petartgen.com/. The core of our service is simple: you upload a photograph of your pet, we send it to a third-party AI image provider, and you get a stylised portrait back. This policy explains exactly what happens to that photograph.
Your privacy is important to us, and we are committed to protecting your personal data in compliance with applicable data protection laws and regulations.
We may collect the following types of information:
- Google Sign-In Information: When you choose to sign in with Google, Google provides us with your Google Account identifier, name, primary email address, email-verification status, and profile picture. Google may also issue authentication tokens that our sign-in system stores to complete and maintain the connection between your Google Account and your PetArtGen account
- Contact Details: Information you provide when contacting us for support or inquiries
- Payment Information: Billing details processed securely through our payment providers (we do not store complete credit card information)
- Profile Information: Optional profile details you choose to add to your account
We request only the basic openid, email, and profile permissions. We do not receive your Google password, and we do not request access to Gmail, Google Drive, Google Photos, contacts, calendars, or other Google services.
- Service Usage: Information about how you use the service, including the styles you select, how many portraits you generate, and whether a generation succeeded or failed
- Interaction Data: Pages visited, features used, time spent on the platform, and navigation patterns
- Uploaded Photographs: The pet photographs you upload in order to generate a portrait
- Generated Portraits: The portraits generated from your photographs, including watermarked previews and high-resolution versions
- Technical Data: IP address, browser type and version, device type, operating system
- Cookies and Tracking: Data collected through cookies and similar technologies (see our Cookie Policy for details)
- Log Data: Server logs including access times, error messages, and system events
We use your information for the following purposes:
- To provide and maintain our AI pet portrait service
- To generate portraits from the photographs you upload
- To authenticate you with Google, create or link your PetArtGen account, and display your chosen account name and profile picture
- To process one-off credit purchases (we do not operate subscriptions)
- To analyze aggregate usage patterns and decide which styles and features to work on
- To diagnose failed generations and improve our prompts and model selection
- To monitor cost and abuse of the free preview tier
We do not use your photographs or generated portraits to train AI models.
- To send you service-related notifications and updates
- To respond to your inquiries and provide customer support
- To send newsletters and promotional materials (with your consent)
- To notify you about changes to our services or policies
We use Google user data only to let you sign in, maintain your account, prevent account abuse, and show your basic profile information within PetArtGen. We do not use Google user data for advertising, AI-model training, or credit decisions. We do not sell it, and we do not send your Google account information to the AI image provider that generates portraits.
- To detect, prevent, and address technical issues and security threats
- To protect against fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms of service
- To resolve disputes and enforce our agreements
We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to provide our services and fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy. Specifically:
- Account and Google Sign-In Data: Retained while your account is active. Deleting your account removes the corresponding Google account link, identifiers, and authentication records from our live database
- Uploaded Photographs and Generated Portraits: Retained for as long as your account exists. Deleting your account also deletes the stored image files themselves, and you can email us at any time to have them removed sooner
- Usage Data: Retained for up to 24 months for analytics purposes
- Payment Records: Retained as required by tax and accounting law, typically seven years. These records are held by our payment processor and contain no photographs
Files deleted at your request are removed from our live storage promptly. Our infrastructure providers may retain limited backup or security copies for a short period under their own retention policies.
To have your uploads and portraits deleted, delete your account — that removes the stored files as well — or email us at support@petartgen.com if you want them removed without closing your account. Emailed requests are actioned manually, so allow us a few working days.
We use practical safeguards appropriate to the service, including encrypted HTTPS connections, access-controlled production accounts, restricted service credentials, and authentication controls. Our infrastructure providers apply their own security and backup measures to the systems they operate.
However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
We do not sell your personal information. We may share your data with:
- Identity Provider: Google processes the sign-in request and returns the basic account data described above. Google's handling of that request is governed by your Google Account settings and Google's Privacy Policy
- Hosting and Storage: Netlify hosts the web application, Neon stores application records, and Cloudflare R2 stores uploaded photographs and generated portraits
- Payment Processor: Stripe processes purchases and payment records
- Analytics and Advertising Services: We use privacy-focused aggregate event analytics and may enable services such as Microsoft Clarity or Google Ads measurement. We do not include uploaded photographs or generated portrait content in analytics events
- Email Services: An email delivery provider may process messages you ask us to send or communications you have agreed to receive
- AI Image Providers: We send your uploaded photograph to a third-party AI image provider in order to generate your portrait. This is unavoidable — it is how the portrait is made. We currently route generation through OpenRouter, which relays the request to the underlying image model. We send only the photograph and the text prompt describing the style; we do not send your name, email or payment details
- When required by law, regulation, or legal process
- To protect our rights, property, or safety, or that of our users or the public
- In connection with business transfers such as mergers or acquisitions
These providers process information under their own terms and privacy commitments. We give them only the information reasonably needed to perform the service for which they are used.
